MISSION STATEMENT

Reconnecting Our Kin (ROK) is committed to assisting individuals, families, and communites survive, heal from and make sense of the losses inherent in any adoption experience. ROK recognizes the value of exploring and honouring each individuals personal experience. ROK values openness and supports open adoption records.

IN PROGRESS:

ROK's supportive counselling initiative is planned to commence in the fall of 2008 to coincide with new adoption legislation in Ontario, Canada.

No two adoption stories are alike yet we have discovered over many years of dialogue with the adoption community that being adopted or placing one's child for adoption produces many parralel issues, feelings and questions.

If you are seeking a licensed private investigator / adoption search and reunion specialist and the adoption was not finalized in the United States or Quebec email: searches@sympatico.ca  

The search specialist has 15 years experience, is a reunited adoptee and also provides support throughout the search and reunion.
